Square Enix has released a new
Star Ocean: The Last Hope trailer in the Xbox Live Marketplace. The trailer includes the first ever
gameplay footage of the game, and damn, it does look impressive! If that's not enough, Yoichi Wada said during Microsoft's press conference earlier today
that the game is due
Spring, 2009. That's great news!

Square Enix has announced that the first
Star Ocean: The Last Hope TV commercial will air on July 15, along with other Xbox 360 TV commercials (FYI:
Infinite Undiscovery and
The Last Remnant).
It is a pretty weird move by Square Enix, perhaps they are planning a surprise and the game will release early 2009.
In addition, Square Enix has announced that
Star Ocean: The Last Hope will be at E3 2008, and guess what, Square Enix's press conference is today! It is scheduled for
12:30 PST, so stay tuned as we'll update live from the event.

Square Enix has announced that the first
Star Ocean: The Last Hope tracks will be included in a new collection called
SQUARE ENIX x Xbox360 Sound Collection that will be given to anyone pre-ordering Infinite Undiscovery in Japan.
In case you are not aware, Infinite Undiscovery is another RPG developed by tri-Ace. The release date of the game in Japan is September 11, so expect to see
the tracks sometime around that specific date.

Two new screenshots of
Star Ocean: The Last Hope have proven to be real-time, and they are both very impressive. One of the screenshots is new and shows
how exploration looks like in the game. In addition to the screenshots new art has been released by Square Enix.

TeamXbox have attended the Microsoft RPG Premiere 2008 event four days ago and were able to interview game producer
Yoshinori Yamagishi. The questions
mostly focused on the decision to release this game on the Xbox 360 and not on the PlayStation 3, which seemed like the right choice for most gamers as it's home of the previous titles in the franchise.

The Microsoft RPG Premiere 2008 event is already behind us, and after finally receiving news about

Microsoft has held an RPG conference today in which
Star Ocean: The Last Hope was announced for the Xbox 360. In the
conference an all-new trailer of the game was shown to the press, and probably featured the first real-time footage. It is still unconfirmed, but if
the following are indeed real-time shots the game is going to be
very impressing:

Microsoft has held an RPG conference today in which
Star Ocean: The Last Hope was announced for the Xbox 360. The game
will have more science fiction feel to it. You will be able to travel through "a star ocean," jumping across planets. The game will feature new systems
in its battle system. A new trailer of the game was shown, and we will post it whenever we get out hands on it.
Star Ocean: The Last Hope is supposed to be released on the console in 2009, but hopes of PlayStation 3 users should not end so quickly. The game might
still be released on the console; after all, this might be yet another "timed exclusive" bought by Microsoft, just like Tales of Vesperia.
Update: Square Enix producer Yoshinori Yamagishi cleared things up during a roundtable interview session that followed the press
conference. Asked if the game is 360-only, he said, "We cannot announce anything on that. We can say that it will be released first [on the
Xbox 360]. Whether we'll release it on the PS3 is undecided. We may release it, we may not."
